Unhealthy diets are a major contributor to India’s escalating burden of diet-related non-communicable diseases (NCDs) such as diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and stroke, which now rank among the leading causes of death. Simultaneously, the National Family Health Survey (NFHS 2019–2021) reveals limited progress in tackling undernutrition issues like stunting and anemia. A critical challenge in addressing these problems is the lack of timely, nationally representative dietary data due to the high cost and lengthy processes of traditional surveys.
Anuvaad is leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) to tackle these pressing issues. By integrating AI-based tools, we aim to improve the dissemination of scientifically validated nutritional information to all sections of the Indian population, ensuring accessibility and relevance. These tools are also being explored to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of dietary data collection, overcoming barriers posed by conventional methods.
This initiative is particularly focused on addressing the know-do gap in rural India, where linguistic diversity and varying education levels often impede access to critical nutritional knowledge. By bridging these gaps, we aspire to create a more informed and healthier population, empowered with the tools to make better dietary choices and improve overall well-being.
